Our Wounded Veterans
deserve support !
For over 15 years, a key part of our wheelhouse has been taking care of Wounded/Recovering Veterans who have service-connected VA disabilities. We provide grants that help them heal and make their lives more “comfortable.” NOTE: All grant applications are thoroughly examined and an application is no guarantee of a grant.
Our VP, Wounded Care, is Mary-Edna Krutchkoff, R.N.
Outdoor Respite adventures are an integral part of Wounded Care.
Many Adoptees love to fish and hunt and have told us they are the most comfortable when they are with Nature. Last year, we held two fly-fishing trips and one bear hunt.
Outdoor Respite events are an important part of our Operation Wounded Care. This past week (May 18-22) AaSP organized and funded an event with Project Healing Waters of Leominster, MA. A dozen Wounded/Recovering Veterans fished for a week and even got to take a float trip down the Delaware River with guides Trout Town Flies of Roscoe, NY. Our fishing trips are very popular with our Vets and organized by our Treasurer, Allan Virginia. Veterans received all their meals and lodging accommodations as well.

FAQs
-
It can be as simple as a small grant to help a struggling Wounded/Recovering Veteran pay a utilities bill or a mortgage; or it can be helping him or her to buy a vehicle modified for his/her condition (you must be qualified to be able to receive a grant); or taking Veterans fishing or hunting to be out in nature. We want them all to be more comfortable.

You must have a service-connected VA disability and fill out the required forms to be considered.
